So, I thought this would be a cool topic for Foodie Friday on Friday the 13th. I could only find 8 common food superstitions to choose from. Of those 8 I picked pasta, and Taste of Home had a link to a very cool product, that I simply had to check out.
First the food superstition. In China, long noodles represent a long life. So, breaking the noodles before you cook them can shorten your life. That is the superstition. Do you do that? Break the noodles before cooking? I do. That is how I was taught oh so many years ago. I don’t tend to be superstitious though. Then I found a link for some pasta recipes. As I browsed them, most were not all that appealing to me, and I knew my family would not go for them. But, then I found one for homemade pasta made from veggies and legumes. I was curious, so I check out the website called Cybele’s. She is a mom with an interesting story. You can check out her products here. They are not sold on her website, and though the find a store link told me Walmart did, mine did not. But, Amazon does sell them, and you can find them here. They are not cheap, but if you look at the ingredients, and you are not a meat eater this could be a great option. I surely think I must try them. Each serving does have about 25 grams of protein, so be sure to not eat meat with these kinds of pasta, if you are watching your protein intake.
This is not a paid post. I found this website while doing research for this post. Please research the ingredients to be sure it will suit your dietary needs before buying.
