I had my 6 months labs drawn the other day, and I got the results last night. It has been 3 years since I was diagnosed, and I continue to stay stable. My Creatinine continues to go down and is at 1.27. I have no protein in my urine, and my Albumin was normal this time. It was below normal the last time, most likely because I was eating to low of a protein diet. This can lead to muscle wasting, and PEW, so I increased my protein intake and it has leveled off. eGFR 49. My Iron, Vitamin D, Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium were all within the normal range.
All of this is obviously good news. The diet I am following is keeping my kidney disease from progressing. But, I have within the last 3 months increased my exercise in both intensity and duration, including weight lifting, none of which has had a negative effect on my kidney. I do not let my HR raise above a moderate level of activity. My BP is normal, and that I attribute to a low sodium diet. Weight loss is still not occurring, but I have long since given up on the number on a scale. I am building muscle and losing inches, and I feel stronger and healthier. That is my focus. I also had a very bad cold right after Christmas. I always get worried about how any illness will affect the kidney, but it was fine. I see my doctor in 2 weeks, and I do have some questions for him about allergies and asthma. Namely, I want to ask him about Perilla Oil for allergies and asthma. I am not sure he will know the answer, though. To me, oil is an oil, and should always be used in small amounts.
We had a horrible storm come through our little town last night, and we have several trees down in our yard. So, this will most likely be the only blog post for a few days while we clean up all that mess. Have an awesome weekend! Next week I am announcing a special deal for all new customers of my Health Coaching 30 day plan. Be sure to come back and check it out.
